Resturant Review
Okay, maybe my scale is a little confusing, so I will set it straight for you right now. It is my scale, therefore, I can make it the way I want. Some may say that 10 is best, however, 10 on the Gregory Sucky Scale means bad...way..way..way bad. So if I score a restaurant a 1, go there and a 10 means nasty like the Azle Dairy Queen nasty, okay, the Azle Dairy Queen is really a 14 or 15, but that is another story. Also, the scale takes into account ALL things that matter, taste, services, cleanliness, price, the whole nine yards.
This weeks review is Palermo's Italian Cafe located at 2652 Hwy 407 E. It is located in the Bartonville's Town Center, a very nice center close to Lantana.
The place is very nice, and was not very crowded for a Friday night at 6:30PM but quickly filled up. We walked in and was immediately greeted by a nice young girl who was wearing a skirt way too short for her age...or really at any age. She seated us in the back at a table of our choosing and took our drink order.
About a minute later we were asked for our drink order again by a male waiter who had messed up hair for a waiter and then about two minutes later we were again asked for our drink order by yet another waiter. Although three people asked for our drink order, about five minutes passed before we got our drinks...not too bad.
We sat for about another 30 minutes before our order was taken. Several people had came in after us and their orders had been taken. We were about to leave when our waiter arrived (the third on the drink order guy). He took our order and the salad and appetiser came within a good time frame. However, the "bruschetta" was really just cheese bread but the house dressing for the salad was good.
The food took forever to get at our table, about another 40 minutes after the salad and cheese bread came. Chris ordered the pasta sampler and I had the Stromboli. Once the food got there, it was very good. Not authentic, but not bad either and very very well priced.
When the waiter came to take our plates we asked for our check right then, he did not have it and it took another 10 minutes or so to get the check, we paid and then left. We spent almost two hours there which would be great if we had another couple or something, but for two people to eat and it take almost two hours was a little much.
Good food, great price, clean, but the wait staff needs to get it together. Each waiter served only about 8 tables each, it really should have been a little mosre organized.
Palermo's gets a 5 on the scale, if the time issue could be resolved and the wait staff could pick it up a bit, they will get a 3 or 4 next time and there will be a next time I'm sure.
