NBC's Saturday Night

I guess you could say I am a Saturday Night Live fan. I think I've seen just about every episode, some great, other tanked.
Last night in tribute to George Carlin, the first every episode of SNL aired. It was cool to see how we have changed over the years.
Good parts of the show included, Billy Preston's "Nothing from nothing"...I still like that song. The Bee Hospital skit and the Person Home Security segment. Other stuff was sorta way out there, but I guess that was the appeal of the show back then. Janis Ian also performed "At seventeen"..man, that was a weird song and she sung other songs that really had some disturbing lyrics. Wonder what ever happened to her?

Boyd Masonic Lodge #479

Officer installation took place today. I always enjoy seeing the new officers as they take their "new" seats they look a little nervous and a little excited. Boyd Lodge is a great little lodge and we got some fine officers this year. I'm looking forward to a great year. If you are a mason in good standing and in the Boyd,Texas area, stop by and visit us on a Monday evening.

Ruling My Kingdom!!

My wife is out of town visiting her grandmother in South Carolina. I'm back to the simple life, the basics, you know. If I don't want to make the bed...ha...I dont have to. If I want to leave the seat up, then by God, I will, no sir, I'm gonna leave my socks where they lay (at least for a couple of days) Since she is not here, I'm going to live a "mans" life. Stick my chest out and rule my kingdom! More later...I've got to go and water her plants so they dont die in the Texas heat. I also have to give my little special needs kitty her daily dose of dope...oh yea, the dog needs her medicine too. I may make a batch of cupcakes later on...ruling my kingdom dont cha know

My Tractor

Okay, I've got this old tractor that I have been working on. Dont really want to work on it, but if it is going to run, you got to spend some time(and $$) on keeping it up and going. So anyway, I tore up the power steering cylinders and ordered some news ones. The guy at the part shop is about 200 years old and knew what I wanted and needed before I wolked into the store (you know the type). He ordered them and poof they appeared within a week. I was so happy and excited, my tractor was soon to be up and running again. I get the shiny new cylinders home and begin to put them on...oh no...there is a problem...they dont fit...crap..darn..&^%(()5%^!!!!! So off to the tractor shop again maybe this time the old man will listen to me and get the right parts.

A little about me

Here is my very first blog posting. And I thought I would share a little about myself so the whole world would get to know me better. I am a 42 year old white male living in Azle, Texas USA. I am married to a very wonderful girl and have three daughters and a new grandson. We live out in the country (not much for city life)and enjoy our time away from the hustle and bustle of the big towns. I have made policing my career and have devoted over 20 years of service to my profession. I am eligible for retirement, but I have no clue what I would do if I did retire. I am a Mason and got into the faternity because of my grandpa. I belong to several masonic organizations but mainly focus on the "blue lodge" side of things. That is pretty much it in a nutshell, as the weeks, months and years progresses, most of my rambelings will be about the above topics I am sure. Thanks for visiting my blog and post a reply anytime.
